Second Investment Fund Launched
24/04/2009
Summit has successfuly launched the second of its SQN Alternative Investment funds, completing the first closing of a transaction during the week that Fund II was launched. Summit launched the first of its SQN Alternative Investment funds ("Fund I") in 2008, prior to the onset of the recession. Fund I has been successfully used to raise and provide alternative funding lines for a combination of new and established businesses since the markets tightened in the Summer of 2008.
The launch of the second of these asset backed funds will provide on-going facilities that will enable Summit to further increase its credit capacity at a time when many businesses continue to experience difficulty obtaining access to capital either for equipment leases or for residual/equity investments.
To date, the revenues raised from historic and the new investment funds have been used to provide facilities for exisiting clients, allowing them to continue to aquire those assets critical to their businesses and also to support demand from new customers looking for credit capacity within Summit's core medical, technology and environmental asset utilising sectors in the United Kingdom, Europe and in North America.
Given demand so far, Summit plans to launch a further investment fund in 2010, with enhanced lending capacity.
