Private sector financing
The Private sector is changing rapidly as the Government pours money into the NHS, particularly to increase capacity to reduce waiting lists - in areas as diverse as cataracts, hips replacements and MRI scans. These changes have created a number of opportunities for the Private sector in both the clinical and non-clinical areas, including:
- Out sourcing of day surgery or outpatients to ease waiting lists via the ISTC/ DTC awards.
- Decontamination projects.
- Use of more modular buildings for accommodation.
- LSP/ IT changes to make electronic patient record a possibility.
- LIFT/ PCT purpose built centres.
MESL is working on projects for Private Sector suppliers in all these areas.
