The introduction of medical equipment in a comprehensive PFI solution has huge risk transferring implications - economic life differences between traditional bricks and mortar of the buildings and fabric of the hospital, maintenance, changes in technology, and the shorter useful life of most sorts of medical equipment.
The principals involved at MESL have completed the following transactions:
- Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore (Spinal Injuries Unit -1999).
- Royal Preston & Chorley Acute NHS Trust (Oncology Solution - 2000).
- Queen Elizabeth Hospitals NHS Trust (Managed Equipment Solution, Trust wide - 2001).
- Swindon & Marlborough Hospital NHS Trust ( HISS, PACS & Telephony PFI Solution - 2002).
- Taunton & Somerset Oncology Centre (Design, Build and Operate - 2004)
MESL is working on projects for Private Sector suppliers in all these areas.
